Wow. I have not posted anything in a while. Sorry about that! I've been trying to get all of this research done (gosh I'm still not done -_-) and haven't really been working on the website itself. Well I've made a lot of progress! I;ve finished 6 pages as of today (About the Author, Characters, Plot and Conflict, Full Page Illustration, Vocabulary Study, and Symbolism/Theme). I am very happy and super proud of my website. It's coming together just how I want it!

Well it's a Saturday and I hate doing work on Saturdays so I'll probably finish some research and work on it some more tomorrow.

OOOOOOHHHH before I forget, I found out something really cool! Did you know this book was BANNED in the Soviet Union when it was published? How controlling is that? You know you up to no good if you gotta ban a book, man. That's just cruel...

Adieu!

Vacation Troubles

Well...here I am on a Saturday in the beautiful city of Fort Lauderdale and a luxury hotel...and I'm working on  my project. Not the ideal situation, huh?

I figured I may as well work on some part of the project today. So I'll be taking notes from online and hopefully start a few of my other pages. My goal is to have the About the Author and Dystopian Connections pages up by midweek.

Wish me luck!

In Class

So I'm in class right now typing this. I just finished my full page illustration, so two down, nine to go! I think I'll start working on my about the author and symbolism/theme pages because I haven't even touched those two yet.

A little about my findings in the book-Squealer is quite the character. He's very dynamic yet static at the same time. He's kind of like the one who enables the characters to be either static or dynamic, if that makes sense. His persuasions can end up two different ways- the animals remain static and go with it or become dynamic and question where all these changes are coming from. I need to figure out who he's alluding to...

Confusion!

So I'm back and completely confused! This book has to be the most advanced thing I've read. It has so many complex layers that require a lot of research. I'm also trying to figure out how I want to design my website. The blog is a big part in the creative aspect so it has to be here. But my other pages are giving me trouble. AAAAHHHH!! On the bright side, I OFFICIALLY FINISHED A PAGE!! It's my vocabulary page so yay!!

Okaaay sooo I may or may not have finished the book today in class...! I'm sorry World, but I honestly have no idea how to pace myself when I read. Well, now I have a lot of time to work on my project! YAY!

Ok, back to business! Today I realized just how complex this book is. I'm gonna have to do a lot of research which doesn't make me happy but alas, I must ace this so BRING IT ON!! So today what I'm going to do to the website is finish setting up all of the headers on each of the pages and start organizing. I still have a lot of notes to take but I've made a dent at least.

Ta-ta for now!

Thus It Has Begun!

So today is day one of the blog! Whoop whoop! I'll try to keep these entries short and sweet and provide just some general thoughts on how I'm feeling about the book. Right now, I'm actually two chapters from finishing the actual story (I haven't read any of the notes  yet). I can already tell I'm gonna have to do some additional reading and research to fully understand the book. I've been taking a lot of notes, trying to figure out where everything goes and what's the role and I'll be honest-it's confusing. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it!

Today, I've been working on setting up this website. Figuring out themes, fonts, basically the cosmetic aspects. But I'm putting a lot of time into them because I want each picture to tell its own story. Is that weird? I could easily just slap some random pictures in the header or take it out all together. Alas, my intellect must go deeper into the book and see it as more than a piece of literature.

I've talked too much! Signing off for now!

Hello! My name is Jaelyn Taylor and this is my end of the year project for ELA. I wanted to do something really creative, so I created a live blog. I've been recording all my findings and just thoughts on the book, Animal Farm. Hope you enjoy!
